8/30/08 Gone Sewin Is pleased to announce: Gone Sewin’s Star of the Month This is a great experience for both the beginners and the more advanced quilters. Each month a block is to be created and at the end of the year, turned into a complete quilt top. Each star will have 2 different colors drawn from the same background. Each month you will receive a kit with a different 12 ½” star block. The fabric is already pre-cut so all you have to do is sew it together following the complete instructions and diagrams. The kit will also include instructions on how to cut the particular star if you wish to make more. At the end YOU decide how you want to finish it, of course with some recommendations and help. You can pick up your block anytime during the month that Gone Sewin is open and either bring your machine and do it in the store, or bring it home and do it at your leisure. As everything else at Gone Sewin, we work around YOUR schedule. The fee is $5 per month for each kit. This 12 block series quilt is fun to make and is a great gift for family and friends. A rendition of future blocks will be featured on Gone Sewin’s website under Monthly Star Icon. By September 6^th I need an email commitment or for you to come in the store and fill out the sign up sheet. Please include in the email your full name, phone#, email address, regular mail address with zip code. The first kit will be available Wednesday September 10^th until the end of the month. Toni 8/13/08 Hi, I wanted to let everyone know that I am forming the 2^nd in a series of 3-D flower classes as requested. You can see what we will be doing here: http://www.gonesewin.com/ , the price, dates and times. I finally got around to doing the Rose you all asked for with a few other interesting 3-D things. Those interested should call me 3 – 4 days before the class so I can cut the kits. I am done with the first block of Gone Sewins Block of the Month and will email you as soon as I post the info on the web. Anyone who is interested in it will need to let me know so the appropriate number can be cut. This will be a monthly block for a year of a different interesting star. You will get a kit that is already cut into the pieces that you will just have to sew together with no or very little cutting. Complete cutting directions will be given so you can make more of the same block at another time. Like my other classes, there will not be a specific day or time to pick it up. I will work around your schedule. I think you will like what I came up with. As usual Friday Night will be Girls Night Out and Saturday and Sunday will be Quilt/Sew the Day Away and any classes you might want to take. Remember, most of our kits are Pre-cut pieces, not just the fabric. The sale will be starting tomorrow Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday this weekend. We will be open late Friday for Girls Night Out, Saturday as usual, and we will be open once again on Sunday for Quilt/Sew the Day Away. Will will be having Girls Night Out tonight and every Friday as usual. I am not going to Lancaster so I will be Open next weekend and now Quilt/Sew the Day Away is every Saturday and Sunday. You can still do individual classes on Saturdays. Yet once again I have re-arranged the store for more room. I have added some more Kits and Classes to my website this week and working on more for the upcoming weeks. I just got in more Warm & White Batting, so anyone that needed it, come on in. I have a few Crazy Easter Eggs Table Runner kits left that finish up quickly and working on a really fast Spring/Memorial Day/4^th of July one. I might not be going to Lancaster the end of the Month so I will be Open then, but will let you know next week for sure. We came back with a van load of some really great fabrics that people have been asking for. We even found this really adorable Baby Blanket panel that I am sure you will love when you see it. I have not seen one this cute in years. I will be open at night this Tuesday, January22. As always Girls Night Out is this Friday and Quilt/Sew the Day Away is Sunday. Feb.3 is Super Bowl Sunday and we are going to have a special class that day. Believe it or not, we are going to make a finished quilt in that one day. Yup, it can be done by anyone. No special rulers or notions to buy. I will have the details next week in my Newsletter so check your plans because there will be limited seating. I have finally gotten in touch with the woman who does a fantastic job Long Arm Quilting. She is a true artist and you just have to see her work! I have her cards and sample in the store now. She is right here on the Island in Babylon. Lori and I out did ourselves this week when we went fabric shopping!
We came back with a van load of some really great fabrics that people
have been asking for. We even found this really adorable Baby Blanket
